Sandulli installed seven terracotta panels along the beautiful walking path that leads from the main road to Praia beach. The panels tell the stories of seven local characters who lived here before the beach changed from a fishermen\u2019s hamlet to a tourist destination.
The story of each panel is also told in a poem the artist wrote to translate his terracotta sculptures into verse. As in most of his work, Sandulli represented concepts that highlightthe joyful character of the place while recalling its myths and traditions. The characters are mainly fishermen who are represented in scenes that steer away from the harsh reality of their lives to reveal the beauty and happiness of a life in close touch with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
