Conca dei Marini

Conca dei Marini in Costiera Amalfitana

Stairways and little steps weave along the village, connecting one street to another.

Conca dei Marini on Amalfi Coast spreads over a part closer to the sea, where small houses parade side by side and another hilly area with expanses of olive and lemon groves enlivened by pretty white lime dwellings, each of which is surrounded by vegetable gardens of different sizes.

Its name derives precisely from its basin-like conformation, and despite being a small village, it is home to as many as six churches. The best known, that is, the one linked to the legend of the janarethe women-witches of the village,” is the church of San Pancrazio. The church of Sant’Antonio and Santa Maria di Grado, overlooking the sea, is kept a relic of St. Barnabas. Wandering around the village, one encounters the Church of St. Michael Archangel, the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, and the Madonna of the Snow, all of which overlook the sea.

Conca dei Marini is also home to the famous Emerald Grotto, famous for its crystal-clear waters and stalactites that create true works of natural art. Under its limpid waters, it is possible to observe the ceramic nativity scene, which attracts millions of visitors worldwide every year.
