Praiano NaturArte. Path 6: Ferdinando Vassallo

Vassallo installed 8 large ceramic panels framed by ceramic pebbles, which represent the typical landscape of Praiano. Interspersed among the panels are hundreds of turquoise ceramic pebbles inserted between the gray stones of the high dry walls along the route. These ceramic pebbles form one or more words that stand for concepts, expressions or historical characters of the area

Ferdinando Vassallo’s artworks

A concrete and innovative artist with a vast production of “Floating Stones”, “Wind Vases” and “Pluriversi”. His art opens the viewer’s eyes and guides him towards mysterious scenarios and horizons. His research emphasizes the primordial nature, composed of micro-galaxies and macrocosmos. This research is expressed through the dexterity of shamanic craftsman, capable of using thoughts, impulses and imagination to give shape to the vastness of the universe. Analysing the form and composition of his works, skilfully created by Ferdinando Vassallo, one perceives act that aims to capture immensity and show the absolute. His almost alchemic experimentalism leads to the creation of silent, mutable works that are totems of a profound spirituality and ad unconscious that is constantly being investigated. These works reflect their centre and position in an infinite galaxy of powerful symbols.
