On 10th August 2024, Hotel Caruso in Ravello, a gem nestled in the stunning Amalfi Coast, will host the final Ditirambo Night of the season. This highly anticipated event, beloved by food enthusiasts and connoisseurs of local traditions, is part of a broader initiative dedicated to promoting the Mediterranean Diet. This initiative, developed in close collaboration with the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park and local producers, is also a prelude to the Agora of the Mediterranean Diet, scheduled for 15th September 2024.

A Journey Through History and Tradition

10th August is a particularly significant date for Ravello because it coincides with one of the Amalfi Coast’s most famous events: the Dawn Concert of the Ravello Festival, held at the breathtaking Belvedere of Villa Rufolo. In this setting of extraordinary beauty, Caruso a Belmond Hotel is set to celebrate another unforgettable evening, continuing the tradition of Ditirambo Nights, which are inspired by Greek choral lyric poetry and celebrate the joys of food, dining, and life itself.

The Mediterranean Diet as a Way of Life

Hotel Caruso has undertaken an in-depth exploration of the Mediterranean diet, blending tradition with quality and innovation to offer its guests not only a high-end culinary experience but also a wellness journey that goes beyond the mere act of eating. As Iolanda Mansi, the Hotel’s Manager, explains, “At Caruso, guests experience complete well-being, characterised by authentic flavours and relaxation. This kind of experience, a perfect blend of wellness and delight, leads to inspiration and the creative leisure that has its roots and consecration right here in Ravello.”

Cilento Products and Culinary Creativity

The true star of the evening will be Cilento, with its typical products of the highest quality. Following the success of the first two Ditirambo Nights on 1st June and 3rd July 2024, the 10th August event will feature the participation of producers:

  • Vincenzo Barlotti, with his renowned cheeses and dairy products, accompanied by his wife Daniela Senatore, who creates skincare products from buffalo milk under the Biancamore brand.
  • Donatella Marino and Vittorio Rambaldo, who will showcase the traditional menaica anchovies.
  • Enza Russo and Pasquale Longobardi, known for their famous Cilento figs, presented in various forms, from dried figs to those coated in chocolate.

These producers will bring the best of Cilento directly to the tables of Caruso Grill, where Executive Chef Armando Aristarco will apply his creative genius to transform local products into unique dishes, enhancing the genuine and authentic flavours of the region.

A Complete Sensory Experience

Ditirambo Nights are more than just a gastronomic experience; they also represent a cultural celebration. Adding to the unique atmosphere of the evening will be the music of Cilento’s master singer Angelo Loia, whose traditional ballads will transport guests on a sensory journey through flavours, sounds, and traditions. This unforgettable experience, as is often the case in Ravello, will leave a lasting impression on those who attend.

A Bridge to the Agora of the Mediterranean Diet

The Ditirambo Night on 10th August will be the final event of the summer season and a precursor to the Agora of the Mediterranean Diet, set for 15th September 2024. This forthcoming event will not only feature a tasting journey but will also include a scientific panel discussion with experts from the lifestyle and medical fields. The event will take place in the enchanting Wagner Gardens of Hotel Caruso, offering a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the Mediterranean Diet and its impact on health and well-being.
